I am an associate professor at Tilburg University and a senior research consultant at ERAC (European Regional Affairs Consultants).

INVESTIGATOR

I have an inquisitive mind and like to learn and to grow. That is why I am in the right place as an academic and a senior research consultant.

WEARY

I try to avoid the well-trodden paths and avoid doing what everybody else is doing. This is evident in my choice of research method (QCA), my emphasis on QCA as a qualitative method, and in my following Critical Realism as a philosophy of science.

GENTLE

I am confident and strong enough to be gentle. Nobody needs to stand in my shadow, because I do not want to stand in anyone else’s shadow.

DETERMINED

I wanted to become a QCA expert. I worked hard and achieved my goal. When they tried to push me away at some point in my career, I held my ground.
