Research excellence. I am a leading QCA (Qualitative Comparative Analysis) expert and published my own QCA handbook. I push back against the quantification of QCA and present it as a thoroughly qualitative method. I have published QCA methods papers in top journals, connecting QCA to critical realism and challenging the use of fuzzy sets in QCA. My disciplinary research focuses on the geography of innovation.

QCA training. I have regularly conducted QCA trainings for academics and consultants. Contact me for hosting a QCA training and negotiate a fee.

Teaching excellence. I have extensive experience teaching and supervising students, developing and coordinating courses, designing tests and coordinating across courses. I hold both the Dutch University Teaching Qualification (UTQ) and Senior Teaching Qualification (STQ) and have won multiple teaching awards.

Effective consultancy. I have performed impact studies and policy evaluations using QCA. The findings translate easily into policy recommendations.

Constructive academic leadership. As chair of the examination board, I have broad experience developing and implementing examination and education policy, coordinating across programmes and Schools.
